Last month, a news reporter was fired for a personal post on her blog.
On a follow-up post the reporter claims: “I was never asked to take the blog down. I was fired without discussion. I took the blog down immediately following my termination, then reposted it Friday evening.”
So what was so bad about the post? Among other notes about her job, the woman admitted to going braless during a live broadcast, being frightened by old people, and stealing mail and then putting it back (maybe.)
Needless to say, her employer did not find the post—which was meant to be satirical—funny.
She does confess: “If I could go back and do it over, I would have never written the post. My job was worth 100 times more than any of this media circus.”
