HR Strange But True

‘First’ Intern Gets Second Chance at Showbiz Gig

Elder first daughter Malia Obama has been seen on the set of Lena Dunham’s hit HBO show Girls in Brooklyn after landing her second television entertainment internship, reports the Daily Mail.

Malia, who turns 17 on the Fourth of July, was on the set of Girls on Thursday at Aurora Ristorante in Brooklyn, the Mail writes, citing a report at TMZ. She was observed delivering coffee for the cast and crew and helping block the public from entering scenes during shoots, the report notes.

This is her second job in entertainment. Last summer, she worked as a production assistant for Halle Berry’s CBS show Extant.

The president and first lady were in town. And weren’t there a lot of strange men on the set as well?

Yes, etonline has confirmed that it was indeed First Daughter Malia Obama on the set with Halle Berry. Malia’s visit was confirmed by series costar Camryn Manheim, who complimented the teenager as being “charming” and “delightful.”

The Wrap had first reported that Malia performed some computer duties of a production assistant and even got to snap “the slate” to start a scene. The article also said Malia thought her first time working was “a big deal.”
