How to Boost Employee Morale with Office Perks

It’s probably no surprise that surveys show employees are overworked, burned out, and just plain stressed. While it may be an accepted reality, this burnout is bad news for organizations’ recruitment and retention goals. Staples Business Advantage’s 2016 Workplace Index found nearly half of employees acknowledge burnout is motivating them to look for a new job.

While employees recognize taking a break is important (78% say when they do take a break it makes them feel more productive throughout the day), many feel guilty or don’t think they have time to step away from their desks.

The onus falls on employers to encourage workers to take frequent breaks and provide a dedicated, well-stocked space where employees can recharge and refresh. Here are some tips for employers to keep in mind to encourage more workers to take breaks and create inviting spaces to unwind.
