10 L&D Programs Every Enterprise Should Offer in 2018 (Part 1)

If you want your enterprise’s learning and development (L&D) programs to continue to retain and attract top talent in 2018, you’ll need to offer the right programs. Here’s a list of the top 10 L&D programs every enterprise should offer in 2018.

All-Inclusive Sexual Harassment Training

In 2017, women and men across various industries reported instances of sexual harassment in the workplace in record-breaking numbers. The “#metoo” movement gained momentum again, and multiple celebrities and well-known public figures shared their very personal stories. In 2018, expect to see a variety of enterprises tackle sexual harassment training with more inclusive approaches that include everyone as being a potential target of harassment, not just women. Training will include harassment against the LGBTQ community, as well as men and minorities.

Comprehensive Wellness Programs

According to Forbes, wellness programs in 2018 won’t just consist of healthcare benefits for physical wellness. They’ll also begin to emphasize mental health wellness, as well as work to decrease stress and sleep deprivation among employees. Wellness programs will also begin to be tailored to each individual employee, as each employee has different wellness needs.
In addition, wellness programs will also begin to include financial wellness initiatives. Employees will need increasing help learning how to pay down their student loan and credit card debt, as well as how to invest their money wisely for retirement.

Mobile Cybersecurity Training

According to research conducted by Dimensional Research in 2017, 64% of companies were doubtful they would be able to prevent a mobile cyberattack, while over one-third report they’re failing to adequately provide mobile device security within their networks. And, unfortunately, human employees are the weakest link in any enterprise’s mobile security network, especially those employees who aren’t already technologically inclined.
As companies start collecting and using more and more sensitive data and embracing bring your own device (BYOD) policies, it’s imperative they train their employees how to securely access sensitive data and information on their mobile devices.

Programs for Best Practices for Understanding and Using Data

The most competitive enterprises in 2018 and beyond will not only collect and analyze more data about everything from their customers’ online behavior to industry trends but will also train data-driven organizations. Data-driven organizations not only make all company data accessible to all employees at all times but also inspire their employees to use data to make smart and timely business decisions.

 Technology Training

In 2018, enterprises will begin to use more advanced analytics platforms, cloud-based platforms, mobile platforms, virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), etc. And as new technologies and platforms flood the workplace, employees must constantly be trained on how to effectively use such technology, especially when new updates are released, as well as how they should be using such technology on the job.
