What’s your favorite type of movie: A sentimental love story? An insightful documentary? A crime-fighting action flick? What about a film about work?
While the latter may not be the first thing that comes to mind, there are some good ones out there.
A recent BLR® poll asked readers to rank their favorite workplace movies.
Here are the poll results:
- Office Space
- The Devil Wears Prada (a close second)
- 9 to 5
- Working Girl
- Horrible Bosses
Office Space, a comedy about a group of unhappy colleagues who decide to steal money from their company, holds the top spot.
The film, released in 1999, just beat out The Devil Wears Prada, a comedy-drama based on Lauren Weisberger’s novel.
It seems that not many poll takers liked Horrible Bosses. Perhaps the characters’ inappropriate behavior—and the potential lawsuits—made HR pros cringe.

Of course, Office Space has the advantage of constantly being aired on TV!
