Supreme Court Set To Hear Arguments In Class action Waiver Case






A key employment case
pending before the California Supreme Court this year is Gentry v. Superior
Court
, which concerns the enforceability of a mandatory arbitration provision
that waives an employee’s right to file a class action lawsuit on wage and hour
matters. The California Supreme Court is set to
hear oral arguments in the case on June 5, 2007, and the court must issue its opinion
within 90 days after the arguments. We’ll keep you posted.
