Ever wonder what your employees are thinking about their jobs, supervisors, promotion opportunities, teamwork, and other important workplace issues? Now you can find out, through the complimentary National Employee Attitude Survey. Employers can sign up to participate in the survey program that will benchmark their employees’ responses to a written questionnaire to answers from employees at similar organizations nationwide.
Employers that participated in last year’s survey learned that workers were generally happy with their company. However, the survey also revealed serious shortfalls in employees’ opinions of interdepartmental communication and teamwork. Nearly 25,000 workers took the survey last year.
The program gives participating companies a written questionnaire to distribute to the workforce, either by email or in print. Employees use a 0 to10 point scale to answer questions about workplace communications, supervision, teamwork, and chances for advancement. The responses are submitted directly to the program sponsor, Business & Legal Reports, Inc., which compiles the results and sends employers a confidential report of how they did. Employers will also see how their company measures up against other participating organizations across the country, so they can immediately identify successful and weak areas—and the service is entirely free of charge. And, employers can rest assured that their privacy will be protected—company-specific information will be shared only with the employer involved, and employee identities won’t be revealed.
