A San Fernando jury has awarded $576,000 to an Auto Club of Southern California employee who claimed she was repeatedly groped and subjected to unwanted attention for two years by a co-worker who was so persistent that he followed her into the women’s restroom. Cheryl Parker said she reported the problem in writing to a supervisor but no action was taken. The supervisor said she never saw the letter and wasn’t aware of the harassment. When Parker later complained to another manager, he immediately launched an investigation and the harasser ultimately received a disciplinary warning, was given sensitivity training and was transferred to another office. The jury reduced Parker’s damages because she should have done more to follow up on her complaint.
