Can it be that going to work ain’t so bad? A survey of 1,000 adults by Consumer Reports found that people would rather go to work than do a number of other things—especially a boring summertime chore!
Guess there weren’t too many landscapers taking this survey, because mowing the lawn ranked as the thing that people would most like to avoid—38 percent of respondents picked work over cutting the grass.
Also, according to the survey conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Center, 62 percent would rather cook, 49 percent would rather go grocery shopping, 41 percent would rather do laundry, 38 percent would rather clean the house, 33 percent would rather visit in-laws—and 17 percent would rather go to the dentist.
What makes mowing the lawn so odious? Respondents cited trimming and edging, raking grass clippings, and cleaning the mower as the duties in this job description that they hate.
