Registered nurses are going to be a hot career choice over next few years according to O*NET, an online occupation database. With a faster than average projected national job growth (20% to 28%), as well as 1,207,400 projected openings nationwide over the decade, it’s a great sign for RNs.
However, while the occupation is tagged as having a “bright outlook,” jobseekers looking to secure RN positions still need to put in effort during the hiring process—and that starts with the résumé.
As we mentioned a few weeks ago, we’ve heard our fair share of résumé blunders from our readers but clearly not all of them.
Here’s one reader’s story about an RN who forgot to proofread before hitting ‘Send’:
After posting an online ad for a Registered Nurse, I received an e-mail from an applicant who stated she had just completed her last nursing curse. I hope she meant “course.”
Thanks for sharing your story!
Here’s a bonus résumé catastrophe in case you missed it. (Hint: It involves e-mail, a photo of Nicolas Cage, and a young woman with a good sense of humor.)
