You can’t say Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy isn’t good at “picking the right man for the job.” Well, in this case, it’s a woman, and the fit is just perfect. Malloy just tapped 87-year-old former state legislator Edith Prague for a job in his administration—Commissioner of the State Department of Aging.
According to a press release, Malloy stated, “Senator Prague has dedicated herself to improving the quality of life for senior citizens—with her background and expertise, she is a natural choice to lead the Department on Aging.”
The commissioner might not be young, but the agency is; it was just created in January 2013. Before her election to state office, Prague worked for Governor Lowell Weicker as Aging Department Commissioner of the former State Unit on Aging.
“I’m so excited I’m beside myself,” Prague said in the press release. The salary might make her excited as well; it’s $120,000. She says she will drink Boost everyday to keep up with the job.
