Not many people can say they love their job, but for one employee at Stew Leonard’s that is not the case!
A 22-year old, Norwalk Community College student spends his workday dressed as a giant cow for the dairy and grocery store chain Stew Leonard’s in Norwalk, Connecticut. Part of his job includes drawing high fives from adults and scaring young children—not intentionally! Playing the part of Clover the cow is no easy task! You must have a fun personality, be comfortable with being silly, and have some minor dance skills! There are no dangers in this job—aside from a bad hairdo—and you get to work next to a farm!
On top of featuring a giant cow mascot, Stew Leonard’s also features year-round activities for families to enjoy. There are Easter egg hunts, trick-or-treating during Halloween, and company-sponsored amusement park, and ski trips.
The art and design major says he loves his job because he thinks it’s cool to have a farm right outside his workplace, and the awesome perks don’t hurt either! Workplace loyalty must run in the family, because both his parents work there, too! His father works in the deli, and his mother works in the store’s kitchen. With so many people in Connecticut unhappy with their jobs or unemployed, it’s refreshing to see some positive people in the workplace.
