In California, all employers are required to meet all workplace posting obligations determined by the state. These postings, usually available for free from state agencies, cover everything from wage and hour law to proper working conditions. Is your business meeting its obligations?
Fortunately, there’s an easy way to ensure you have all the postings you need. The California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) maintains a list enumerating postings that various employers are responsible for, including:
- Industrial Welfare Commission wage orders;
- Minimum wage notices;
- Paid sick leave laws;
- Safety and health postings; and
- Emergency phone numbers.
Remember, all postings must appear in an area frequented by employees where it may be easily read during the workday, and additional posting requirements may apply to some workplaces.
For an extensive list of California workplace postings, including details of the postings and which employers must post them, visit DIR’s webpage on workplace postings.
