Word of mouth is a great way to learn about the latest training trends and events, and when our peers speak highly of something, we’re more inclined to trust their judgment.
Your learning and development (L&D) peers are saying great things about our latest Training & Development Summit Forum Event!
Across the board, delegates from the last Summit, held in Washington, D.C. on April 2019, are giving rave reviews for the entire conference:
- Shirlene C.—a local university employee—says, “It was very welcoming and accommodating. Great forum information. Opportunities to connect both in a group and one on one. Good concept.”
- Diana P.—Vice President of Training and Development (T&D) at a company specializing in helping disabled workers fulfill their dreams—says, “I loved this format. It gave me an opportunity to meet with vendors and exchange valuable info.”
- Lizz C.— VP of T&D at a local hospital—says, “I was pleasantly surprised. I am leaving with a wealth of information and new relationships. I would highly recommend this event.”
- Lynette C.—a local university employee—says, “I really thank and appreciate you for putting together the Forum Events and allowing us the opportunity to learn and network with some really great people and business. I’d recommend this event.”
- Judith C.—a local parks and recreation employee—says the event was a “great way to have uniformed, no-pressure talks with useful solution providers for a variety of needs.”
- Kate C.—an employee at a stock image provider—says, “The Forum setting was fantastic. My meetings and workshops were scheduled and paced with enough breaks/breathing room to process all the information I was hearing. There were also some great networking and entertainment events which made for deeper connections with the people I met.”
Other attendees praised the food, the venue, and the location—and while those details change for every Forum Event, on thing remains clear: This event is something you MUST check out for yourself!

Could Your Background Screening Process Put You in HOT Water?
Presented by John McTighe, EVP of Background Screening at Data Facts
It seems every year comes with a new swathe of background screening laws. These can come from the Federal Government, State Governments, or even local municipalities. These laws have been followed up on by intensive legal action against employers for these compliance violations. In addition, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and various state EEO agencies have substantially stepped up their enforcement activity against employers whose screening methods may have a disparate impact on minorities and women.
This presentation will cover the key requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), as well as several state laws. We’ll also break down guidance put forth by the EEOC and offer some recommendations on how to create a consistent background check policy.
Key Learning Points:
- Core FCRA employer obligations
- How to structure background screening to avoid disparate impact
- Recommendations for policy development
