It’s hard to believe that the “wedding crashers” would be allowed to crash into the citadel of Internet security and secrecy, that house of learned geeks—the Google campus!
A new movie, “The Internship,” starring Will Farrell, Vince Vaughn, and Owen Wilson, was rumored to be filming in Silicon Valley. And yes, these 40-ish guys are playing the interns!
Tired of unemployment, they conspire to get into an internship program at Google because, screenwriter Vaughn told the Huffington Post, the characters want to “get the free food, play ping pong, and take naps.”
The plot thickens as these elder interns must now report to managers 20 years younger. And to make things even more chaotic, stepbrother and anchorman Will Farrell makes a cameo appearance.
While Georgia Tech played the role of Google in some scenes of the film, according to various media sources, Vanity Fair is now reporting that the production did indeed get permission to film in the “Googleplex” itself.
If you are dying to see the revered campus in the film, or wondering if the aging applicants wear tuxedos to the interview, you will have to wait until June 2013 to see it.
However, the cool views inside the ’plex are available on a video about the film at YouTube.
