Communicating on conference calls can be difficult sometimes. Without social cues, it can be hard for a coworker calling in to know when there is an appropriate time to interject?
Now imagine a conference call with 10,424 participants at one time. And that’s just the old world record!
Broadnet, in partnership with The Contact Group and New Partners, broke the Guinness World Record for the largest conference call by a few thousand.
The December 12, 2012, TeleForum featured EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson and was hosted by The League of Conservation Voters Education Fund. Here are the numbers:
- 2,034,998 calls were completed to potential participants.
- 626,653 people answered the call live.
- 372,001 participants stayed on the call for at least 90 seconds.
- 16,972 participants were on the call during the highest 10-second period, (old Guinness World Record was 10,424 set in 2004.)
