The term “micromanagement” has a negative connotation and for good reason. In general, people don’t like to have someone literally or figuratively looking over their shoulder while they perform their work. At the same time, managers are often faced with employees who—for a variety of reasons—ask for more help in performing relatively straightforward tasks.
Finally there’s a bit of good news for employers relying on H-1B visas. The H-1B cap lottery will take place in March/April 2020, and employers may register electronically in advance for a small fee to find out if they are successful, without going through the time and expense of preparing an H-1B petition.
September 30, 2019, is no longer a hard deadline for employers to submit pay and hours-worked data to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) as part of the annual EEO-1 report.
