The Best Recruiting Software Solutions of 2015

G2 Crowd has released its “G2 Crowd Grid℠ for Recruiting,” which uses a complex and “unbiased” system to determine the best recruiting software solutions available in 2015. In today’s Advisor we’ll explore some of G2 Crowd’s findings.

Untouched By Human Hands

Part of what makes the results of the G2’s analysis interesting involves the way the analysis was conducted. Instead of a traditional survey, the report was created by a computer program’s analysis of user reviews and ratings, as well as a number of metrics such as customer satisfaction, popularity, social impact, and market shares. While the raw data begins partially with user feedback, the analysis is untouched by human bias. In this way, the results ought to represent a no-nonsense appraisal of each solution.

Overall Performance

At the highest level, G2provides an overall score that is averaged from three general categories: the number of reviews, customer satisfaction, and the company’s presence in the market.

The overall score is a broad metric, but clearly ranks the top five companies:

iCIMS Recruit

Jobvite

SilkRoad

LinkedIn clearly outperformed the rest and is the clear winner. However, G2 further breaks down each score into the three categories mentioned above: reviews, satisfaction, and market presence. A look at these numbers begins to reveal certain aspects that each service excels at.

While LinkedIn scored the most overall, we can see that it’s actually beaten by iCIMS Recruit for customer satisfaction. While 92 out of 100 is good, 98 out of a 100 is better. That can make all the difference for some companies when they consider which service to use.

Also, notice how UltiPro and iCIMS both scored the same overall. A look at the individual category scores shows the strengths of each service. UltiPro had a better market presence, but had almost 10 points less than iCMIS in customer satisfaction. These individual traits matter—even if they are balanced against one another for an overall score.

LinkedIn versus UltiPro

Based on overall performance, LinkedIn, UltiPro, iCIMS, Jobvite, and SilkRoad are the top five recruiting solutions recommended by G2. But which one is the solution for you?

A deeper look at the individual features offered by these solutions, as well as how they stack up against one another, can help you choose. The bold numbers represents the highest rating, the red numbers represent those scores that were below average.

As we can see, the only solution that was entirely above average was iCIMS; they even outgunned LinkedIn in four out of seven features. While they fell lower in recruiting marketing, sourcing and candidate identification, and job-posting, it was only by a few points in each category.

One of the features of G2’s algorithm is that it applies “n/a,” or non-applicable, to any feature that doesn’t pr     vide enough data to draw a stable conclusion. It remains unclear as to what it means that LinkedIn and, to a much lesser degree UltiPro, have certain features rated as n/a.

Based on platform features, iCIMS is the clear leader, with UltiPro following closely behind.

Tomorrow we’ll take a look at a few final considerations about G2’s recruiting software solutions report. Plus an introduction to an interactive webinar, Hiring Mr. or Ms. Right: Best Practices on Using Strategic Talent Assessments.
