The Comedy Central show, @Midnight, recently asked its Twitter followers to tweet how they would quit their jobs using the hashtag, “#QuitYourJobIn5Words.” The Twitter world complied and left us such gems as “Nobody puts baby in cubicle” via @TunaOfTheSky, and “I’ve caught all the Pokémon here” from @Roybq. However, no amount of hashtags could prepare one employer for its employee’s recent 2-week notice announcement.
Reddit user, springmint5 (real name Alex), wins the award for most thoughtful and creative 2-week notice! He went to his local card store and bought a sympathy card to give to his employer.
Inside the card reads, “Even though you knew this time would come, there’s no way to prepare you for this loss. I am so sorry.” To add insult to injury, Alex then signed his name followed by “2-week’s[sic] notice 8/8/16.”
Have you received any crazy 2-week notices? Or has an employee quit his or her job in some outlandish way? Share it in our comments section below, or e-mail us, and it could be featured in the next HRSBT!
