Applying behavioral science to enhance messaging through digital signage

This white paper explores the psychology underlying the use and effectiveness of digital signage – content displayed on screens – as a means to communicate with ‘deskless workers’.

This research collaboration between Durham University and ScreenCloud will:

  • Draw upon a body of research to explore, evaluate, and recommend behavioral messaging approaches that can enhance employee engagement and are specifically amenable to delivery through digital signage
  • Review key behavioral messaging principles, and illustrate how they can be applied ‘on screen’ in deskless environments (factories, hospitals, campuses)
  • Provide a practitioner-oriented explanation of the psychological processes explaining how these messages impact employee engagement, with a particular focus on health and safety, productivity, risk avoidance, and compliance
