Beginning in April 2007, California HR professionals will have the opportunity to earn a California-specific HR certification, the first of its kind.
The program, which is being rolled out by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), will require HR professionals to take a special exam focused solely on California state law, including compensation and benefits, employee and labor relations, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, and safety and security. The program is designed for professionals who currently have PHR (Professional in Human Resources) and/or SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certifications and are working or doing business in California.
