Employers Have an Easy Way to Find Answers to Health Care Reform Dilemmas

Earlier this week, President Obama said the Affordable Care Act will not be repealed as long as he is in office, in spite of its turbulent implementation process.

No mention was made of the great sacrifices and adjustments employers are being asked to make.

For example, large employers will have to toil for thousands of hours to set up systems to report information about health coverage to the IRS, the ERISA Industry Committee remarked in Nov. 14 comments to the IRS.

The law is leading to a significant migration away from full-time to part-time labor forces. Employers are cutting hours and reducing the number of full-time employees. This is particularly strong among franchisees, according to a survey sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

One thing is certain: More employers are worrying about how health care reform will affect their ability to manage and finance group health plans.

To respond to such concerns, Thompson Information Services, the sponsor of this blog, is offering a free webinar, 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. EST on Dec. 17 to help employers figure out the dilemmas that result from health care reform implementation and prepare for the employer mandate requirements that take effect in 2014.

Paul Hamburger, Esq. and James Napoli, Esq. from the Proskauer Rose law firm in Washington D.C., will answer questions emailed in by attendees in the free 90-minute webinar. This webinar is a must attend for health plan administrators, third-party administrators and ERISA and tax attorneys.

Paul and Jim are also co-authors of one of Thompson’s newest publications: The New Health Care Reform Law: What Employers Need to Know (A Q&A Guide), 4th Edition.

You can submit questions  to the webinar beforehand by following the instructions on the website. Questions are allotted on a first-come-first serve basis. Click here to sign up for this FREE Town Hall-Style webinar.
