Caregivers and The Workplace: Help Employees Do Their Best in Both Roles

The unexpected and unrelenting challenges of caregiving affects not only the caregivers, but their employers and coworkers as well. However, there are steps that can be taken to achieve a balance between workers’ jobs and caregiving responsibilities that work for both employers and employees.

The emotional fatigue of caregiving alone can compromise a worker’s productivity, but add frequent schedule changes, phone calls, tardiness, and absenteeism, and both employers and workers find themselves in the difficult position of wanting to maintain a productive workplace and caregiving responsibilities.

According to a press release, America has 65 million family caregivers participating in the workforce, so employers are feeling the pinch of the growing pressure on their employees who find themselves in this situation.
