HR Strange But True

Charity Counts in the Job Hunt

Nearly 70 percent of respondents to a BLR poll believed that taking a nap during their shift would make them more productive workers. However, many workplaces—assuming they would allow naps—may not have a suitable place for employees to sleep.

More than 4 in 10 (42 percent) professionals said an organization’s participation in charitable activities is at least somewhat of a factor in their decision to work there.

Workers were asked, "To what extent does a company’s participation in charitable activities influence your decision to work there?"

Of respondents, 17 percent said “A great deal,” while another 25 percent said “Somewhat.” On the other hand, a little over half of the respondents chose “Not at all,” and 2 percent chose not to answer.

The survey of more than 400 office workers was developed by OfficeTeam and conducted by an independent research firm.
