Research has revealed that 75% of American workers don’t believe they have access to the latest efficiency-boosting technology while simultaneously revealing that employees who believe their workplace effectively uses mobile technology and other efficiency-boosting technology are more creative, satisfied, and productive at work. And more creative, satisfied, and productive employees yield more innovative and profitable organizations.
Today, your organization must adopt and implement certain apps, tools, and platforms if it wants to remain competitive. Below is a list of four apps, tools, and platforms your employees must know how to use.
1. Learning Management System (LMS)
Current and newer LMSs do a lot. They integrate with HR platforms and constantly and automatically update your employees’ personnel files and offer employees more relevant and highly targeted learning experiences.
Make sure your employees are well-versed in the capabilities of your LMS and that they know how to access learning content and adjust their learning preferences so that they remain engaged and always learning.
2. Secure Networks and Managed Devices
As more employees take on remote roles and work remotely, they need to be trained in how to access your organization’s private networks on their mobile devices so that they can safely and securely access their work files and applications.
Technological tools are great for businesses and employees alike. If you’re looking for an HR technology solution, you want to make sure you are identifying and evaluating vendors on the things that matter. They also need to be well-versed in cybersecurity threats and how your organization manages devices that are accessing its networks and applications so they don’t unknowingly prompt a security breach.
3. Time-Tracking Tools
As more employers allow their employees to work remotely or on a contract basis, employers will need to offer them tools that allow them to track their time so that they can submit clear and accurate time reports. And employees should be trained in how to use these tools to make sure they’re used properly.
Not only will this ensure employees are working the appropriate hours and getting compensated appropriately, but it will also establish what tasks and projects require more time and resources than other tasks and projects.
4. Project- and Time-Management Apps and Tools
If you want your team members to easily be able to collaborate on projects with multiple moving pieces and tasks with different timelines and stakeholders, they should have access to a project-management tool like Microsoft® Project, Wrike, Asana, or Trello. And they should definitely know how to use it and should be using it daily. Not only are these tools easy to access on mobile devices, but they also track due dates, timelines, tasks, communications, project notes, and so much more.
